Hi.
My name is Maggie Green and welcome to my blog – my conversation about cookbooks, books, life, cooking, and what we’re eating here at the Green Apron test kitchen. I live on the Kentucky side of Greater Cincinnati, but grew up in Lexington, about 88 miles south of where I live now. Lexington is a beautiful town known for the University of Kentucky, thoroughbreds, Ashland the home of Henry Clay, and some of most beautiful farms in the Bluegrass Region. I graduated with a degree in Food and Nutrition from the University of Kentucky. So did my 6 sisters, 1 brother, and my dad.
I love books, and love to read, but more than that I love cookbooks. like to cook, and I even enjoy my weekly trip to the supermarket for we eat most of our meals at home and have been known to pack leftovers for lunch. Before I transformed into a committed home-cook, I was more interested in cookbooks. I am the proud mother of three YoungAprons, a dog, also named Maggie, a cat named Maybelline, and have been married to the Best Male Cook I Know for over 23 years. Let’s just leave it at that.
I started to blog in 2008 for fun more than anything else. I do quite a bit of cooking and like a lot of others who blog soon realized that a free blog was a great place to keep recipes and write about random thoughts and what we ate last week. As the blog grew, I realized how much readers enjoyed What We Ate Last Week and recipes.
I do my best to keep up with those goals in addition to frequent posts about random thoughts. I am the owner of The Green Apron Company, and proud to say now a cookbook author. The Kentucky Fresh Cookbook is published in April 2011.
If you would like to send me an e-mail, my address is mykitchentable (at) fuse.net
Thanks so much for stopping by.
