Seasonal cooking revolves around eating the ingredients and food a season of the year offers. Kentucky has a distict pattern of all four seasons. For this we are lucky. This list provides information about local growers of fresh Kentucky produce and local producers of other ingredients for cooking: beef, pork, sausage, and cheese, for example. Cooking seasonally and buying local Kentucky ingredients and food forms the foundation of my philosopy of cooking and eating seasonally. It’s not always possible, I know, but something to strive for. If you know another Kentucky Food producer who should be considered for this list, please send me an e-mail hello (at) kentuckyfreshcookbook.com.
